Vibes front cover

This is my interpretation to the front cover of the magazine "vibes".

I decided to include a main cover line, cover lines, cover star credit and a pug.

By doing this helps me to understand the layout; how the font affects the magazine theme and what to include in a music magazine.

Music magazine draft

I was inspired by 'Q' magazine because I attempted to make the logo quite simple, in order to allow the rest of the magazine to stand out and I attempted to lay it out simularly to one of the covers that I researched. i.e. side headings at the bottom, the use of pugs.

The contence layout is still at primary stage, I will try to continue to experement with different layouts by being inspired by other magazines.

Q magazine analysis

After researching on Q magazine, it turned out to be my favorite music magazine to base mine on. They're a mass market magazine; this is how I'd like my magazine to be aimed as. The house colours are apealling to men and women as well as teenagers over. I like the simplicity of the logo which means that there are many ways to make it more effective than it is originally. It's bold and recogniseable which also allows the rest of the magazine to take centre stage. 

Magazine analysis

I began researching various music magazines and analysed various features invloved on each cover. This helps me to understand the layout of a magazine as well as the impression it gives to the audience; whether it is a rock or pop magazine etc.

School Magazine Questionaire analysis

From my questionaire, I have found out that the school magazine should contain various topics that appeals to everyone including sport, polotics, art and literature; it should include relivant images with quick small paragraphs of text, however, depending on the topic, depends how much text will be included; the target audience should attract both boys and girls so that the magazine shows equality between genders; the magazine should appeal to both young and old, so that the young can understand various events involved ahead of time. But also teachers and 6th form affairs will be included in the magazine. Lastly, the layout should be bright, colourful and attractive in order for it to seem appealing and fun to read.

During my analasis of IPC Media, one of the biggest leading publishers of magazine in the UK, I found out the various music magazines that they publish. NME (various music) and Uncut (Rock Music) are the main music magazines they publish.

I also analized Bauer Media and what music magazines they publish. Kerrang (Rock music magazine) and Mojo are included as some of the music magazines that they advertise. Bauer Media are also involved in radio stations, websites and TV in the music industry.
